HEBRON — The Newfound Lake Region Association and Climate Action NH invite the community to an evening featuring the climate documentary "Chasing Time," followed by a panel discussion and audience Q&A, on Tuesday, March 31. The event will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Grey Rocks Conservation Center, 178 N. Shore Road. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
"Chasing Time" chronicles the conclusion of the 15-year Extreme Ice Survey, led by photographer James Balog, whose work helped bring some of the first and most compelling visual evidence of climate change to the global stage. Directed by Jeff Orlowski-Yang — known for "Chasing Ice," "Chasing Coral," and "The Social Dilemma" — alongside first-time filmmaker Sarah Keo, the 39-minute director’s cut follows Balog and his team as they catalog more than 1 million images documenting the dramatic retreat of glaciers worldwide.
The film offers a thoughtful exploration of time, mortality, and mentorship, highlighting how intergenerational collaboration can inspire hope and meaningful climate action.
Following the screening, attendees will hear insights from glacier systems specialist Simon Pendleton of Plymouth State University, along with representatives from the climate advocacy nonprofit Protect Our Winters. The panel will explore the film’s themes and invite audience participation in a community conversation about climate science, storytelling, and collective action.
This event offers a unique opportunity to experience powerful imagery, learn from climate experts, and connect with others who care about the future of our environment.
