The New Hampshire Boat Museum located on Route 28 in Wolfeboro is getting ready for The New England Vintage Boat Auction that is scheduled for July 23 at the Museum. The 1948 Chris Craft Racing runabout, fresh from a complete restoration, is one of the many boats that will be available to bid on.
If you have ever dreamed of owning one of these classic wooden boats you have seen on the waters, this is your opportunity. There will be boat show winners as well as boats in need of some tender loving care. The auction also has many sailboats, knockabouts, canoes, fiberglass boats and accessories and even a cabin cruiser.
Auction committee members are still accepting consignments and donations and are hoping the later July date will give people more of an opportunity to clean out their garages and barns and also bring new bidders to the auction.
On Friday July 22 the boats will be available for preview from 1-5, and there will be volunteers and staff on hand to answer questions. In the evening, an Auction Preview Cocktail Party will feature the music of the Richard Gardzina Quartet, an offer more opportunity to view items for bid on Saturday. For reservations contact the Museum.
Saturday’s preview will be from 8 a.m. till auctioneer, Wayne Mock begins at 11:00 a.m. Breakfast and Lunch will be available on the premises. If you would like more information about consigning, donating or a partial listing of items available you can visit www.nhbm.org or call the Museum at 569-4554. The New Hampshire Boat Museum is a 501(C)3 organization and all donations are tax deductible. Net proceeds from the auction will benefit the Museum and its collections and programs.
