Teen publishes book

A courageous young girl, a brave but reluctant guide and a skittish bird all join forces to create an exciting adventure novel by Lakes Region author Meg Christian. Battling the Unknown invites readers to tag along with Katarina as she takes an exciting journey from one fantastical land to the next. Meg has an uncanny knack for bringing her characters alive to the point you will actually share their thoughts and their fears as well as their determination to find the one person who Katarina hopes can help her, Amile the Warrior.

Meg Welzenbach Christian is from Wolfeboro and will be a high school senior at Moultonborough Academy this fall and on Saturday, August 23 she will be the guest of the Innisfree Bookshop for a book signing from 2 to 4 p.m.

Meg recently published "The Last Rawl Trilogy book one: Battling the Unknown" and is currently writing the second volume. Meg loves to travel and has written parts of the first book in Iowa, Ct, N.H., Italy, and Mexico but mostly on her computer in the small room by her bedroom. She loves to sing, read, ski, swim and has a true appreciation for the beauty of nature. This has allowed her to write in detail Katrina’s adventures in the woods.

Meg has been involved with the soup kitchen in Laconia, sponsors a child from Compassion and being a pastor’s child (her Dad, Thom is pastor at First Christian Church) has seen the need of people who do not have as much as she does. This is why she will donate any profits from this book to the homeless of her home state..
