GILFORD — A physical therapist will offer tips on how to keep the trunk of the body -- or core -- healthy in a talk on Monday, Nov. 10, at 12:30 p.m. at Wesley Woods.
Kristie Ennis will explain how a strong core is necessary for all of a person's daily activities, such as gardening, walking, or going to stand up.
The core is the link between the upper and lower body. In this workout, Dr. Ennis will lead participants through a series of seated exercises that are designed to help tone the entire core, improve posture, and increase spinal mobility and flexibility.
Ennis graduated with her doctorate degree in physical therapy from Franklin Pierce University in 2006. She has worked in the orthopedic outpatient setting since graduation and loves treating the patient as a whole person. She specializes in women's health, dry needling, functional movement screening and assessment, oncology, and injury prevention. She is also a certified strength and conditioning coach.
Wesley Woods is located off Route 11A behind the First United Methodist Church in Gilford. As a light lunch will be served. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Stace Hendricks at 603-528-2555 or sdhendricks@wesleywoodsnh.org.
