Marylee Gorham, Executive Director of the N.H. Humane Society, accepts a check from Brendan Smith, creator of Real Stories North of Concord, for the proceeds of the July 13 Story Slam at Pitman’s Freight Room in Laconia. The inaugural event had a fantastic turnout of over 60 people, and 11 maiden story tellers, garnering $625 to benefit the shelter. Real Stories North of Concord will be convening at Pitman’s again on August 24, to benefit Camp Resilience, a local veteran’s organization. (Courtesy photo)
