Plymouth State University’s annual "Spring Fling" will take place on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7. Friday night’s events begin at 5 p.m. with a date auction, rugby tournaments on the recreation fields start at 6:30 p.m. and the annual Battle of Bands contest begins at 6 p.m.
The Battle of the Bands will be staged outside the HUB. The alcohol-free event will feature food vendors on High Street, and a mechanical bull and airbrush tattoo artists inside the HUB. The activities are scheduled to conclude at 12:30 a.m.
During the day on Saturday there will be a softball tournament at D & M Park, with the evening’s events kicking off at 7 p.m., and ending around 1 a.m. Jurassic 5, a hip-hop band from Los Angeles, will be the headliner, preceded by the Battle of the Bands winner and another band that had yet to be determined at press time. The evening will also feature food, carnival activities and a beer tent for students age 21 and older.
Saturday night’s event is open to PSU students, and their guests, only. Tickets will be in the form of bracelets which are free to all PSU students in advance of the event, or $20 the day of the event. Guest bracelets are
$20 each (limit two per student) and must be purchased by students in advance.
