The Belmont Senior Center is planning a day trip to the coast of Maine for Tuesday, August 14.
The tour begins at Stonewall Kitchen in York, which offers Maine specialty foods such as jams, jellies, free sample displays as well as interesting items of cookware, cookbooks, etc. Each person will receive a free small jar of Wild Maine Blueberry Jam when they get back on the coach bus.
The next stop will be at “When Pigs Fly Bakery”. Seniors will tour the bakery and lean how bread is made Old World artisan style, using the finest organic, natural ingredients. Each person will receive a loaf of sourdough bread when they get back on the coach bus.
After the tour, seniors will visit Warren’s Lobster House, located right on the water in Kittery, for a Down East Lobster Bake. Start off the delicious lunch with a visit to the salad bar with over 60 items to choose from. Next, enjoy award-winning clam chowder. Seniors may choose a one-pound lobster dinner with steamed clams and a baked potato or a barbecued chicken breast or sirloin steak.
The trip package includes transportation, tour of bakery, free jar of jam, free loaf of bread, lobster bake, wait staff gratuities, driver’s gratuity and all taxes. The cost is $70 and is non refundable.
