MEREDITH — The Meredith Public Library is hosting two special literary event this month.
First, The Mystery Book Group welcomes award winning mystery author Paul Doiron on Thursday, August 14 from 10:30-Noon. Paul Doiron is the author of the Mike Bowditch series of crime novels, including The Poacher's Son, which won the Barry Award and the Strand Critics Award for Best First Novel.
He will be leading the discussion on his newest book The Bone Orchard. Copies of the book can be picked up at the main desk, but you do not have to read the book to attend the discussion. Sponsored by the Friends of the Meredith Library.
On Tuesday, August 19 at 6:30 p.m. we welcome New Hampshire's State Poet Laureate, Alice B. Fogel. Ms. Fogel will be leading a workshop based on her book Strange Terrain: a Poetry Handbook for the Reluctant Reader and will show the group how not to get poetry, but to let it get you. Have you always wanted to understand and feel more comfortable reading poetry? Then this presentation is not to be missed and is paid for by a grant from the NH Humanities Council and by the Friends of the Meredith Library.
Both events are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
