LACONIA — A free program designed to acquaint families living with disabilities with the benefits of planned giving and estate planning and to understand the tools available to maximize long-term financial stability is being offered by Lakes Region Community Services (LRCS) and the Region III Family Support Council. The program will be held on October 8, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Community Services' main office, 719 North Main St., Laconia and is open to all families.

The speakers will discuss, in plain language, how estate planning and legacy giving can go hand-in-hand to benefit your financial circumstances, secure resources and services for loved ones after you are gone, and allow you to leave a legacy that will help sustain a non-profit organization you care about.

Topics include special needs trusts, estate planning tools, wills, charitable bequests, retirement plans, life insurance, investments and beneficiaries, minimizing tax liability, and charitable gift annuities and trusts.

The presenters include Attorney John S. Kitchen; R. Stuart Wallace, president of the LRCS Board of Directors; Brinton "Pete" Woodward Jr., of the LRCS Development Committee; and Dona Murray, who serves on LRCS Board of Directors, and who is a vice president/investment officer at Bank of New Hampshire.

Registration is requested as space is limited. Refreshments and written materials will be provided.

Those wishing to reserve a spot, should contact LRCS's Family to Family Coordinator Karen McDowell at 581-1544, or karenmc@lrcs.org.
