Laconia’s Larry Johnston wins The WEEI Home Town Hero Award

LACONIA — 101.5 WEEI Sports Radio presented its Home Town Hero Award to Laconia’s Larry Johnston Monday morning at the McDonald's in Laconia.

WEEI owner Dirk Nadon SAID, “I’ve known Larry since I was a kid. He’s been a constant supporter of high school sports. He’s given thousands of kids their first job and served as an inspiration to countless others. As Larry celebrates his 50th year with McDonald’s, 101.5 Sports Radio is proud to present our latest Home Town Hero Award to my friend, Larry Johnston, a tireless supporter of great community values.”

“I know what means to a high school athlete when I hand them an award for achievement," said Johnston. "I’ve never received anything like this before – so now I know how it feels.”

Larry went on to say “I’m speechless, it’s an honor to be recognized. I love doing what we do at McDonald’s for academics and high school sports.”
