On Saturday, February 7 (almost “Full Moon” day) and Monday, February 9 (the actual “Full Moon” day) the Alton Parks and Recreation Department is sponsoring evening snow shoe hikes starting at 7 p.m. Residents are invited to join us as we lead you on a guided tour of Trask Swamp in Alton. We will park at the base and walk in with snow shoes using the moon to light the way.
We will meet on Saturday, February 7 and Monday, February 9 at 7 p.m. at Trask Swamp on Fort Point Road, off of Chestnut Cove Road. The program is free. Bring snowshoes, a water bottle and a headlamp and dress in layers. All abilities and ages are welcome. A parent must accompany children under 16.
If you are planning to join the group, please call 875-0109 or write parksrec@alton.nh.gov, to register by February 6.
