16 Winnipesaukee Yacht Club civic minded Members, Proposed Members, Family and Friends helped with the 2017 WYC Adopt-a-Highway Fall Roadside Cleanup on a cool fall morning. Our crew made quick work of the 2.8 mile stretch of route 11, from the Gilford Scenic Overlook to the Alton town line. We split the stretch into 3 equal segments working in teams of two, cleaning opposite sides of the road meeting in the middle. The team at the scenic overlook where the trash can be overwhelming had double the members moving down the hill toward the team working uphill from Ellacoya. Two drivers drove and picked up the participants to/from their locations. The entire operation took about ¾ of an hour due to the terrific turnout.
