WOLFEBORO — Wolfeboro Friends of Music’s seventh concert of their 90th anniversary season will showcase the Daniel Kelly Jazz Trio in “Shakespeare in Jazz.” The concert is Friday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at First Congregational Church.
In this wonderfully expressive concert, Kelly and his artistic colleagues present original compositions inspired by the works of William Shakespeare, for piano, voice, and percussion. The music displays Kelly's artistically integrated and innovative creative work.
He is one of America’s great jazz pianists, a talented composer, and a jazz educator who has been called “stunningly original” with “a visionary imagination.” His music draws inspiration from literature, visual art and journalism, captivating audiences across the country.
Kelly has toured throughout Southeast Asia and India as part of the Kennedy Center and US State Department sponsored Jazz Ambassador program.
The Wolfeboro Friends of Music share a 90-year commitment to important traditions in American music. This is the seventh of nine concert performances comprising the current WFOM season running through June. Ninety years of artistic excellence in service to the Lakes Region and the entire state of New Hampshire and beyond.
