FRANKLIN — Volunteers with Franklin Elks Lodge will work on several old monuments in the historic Webster Place Cemetery on Holy Cross Road in Franklin on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 9:45 a.m.

Many members of the Daniel Webster family are buried there — although Daniel Webster himself is buried in Massachusetts. Many names of the monuments are still living in the area. There is also a dedicated section in the cemetery where orphaned children are buried from the days the New Hampshire Orphans Home was located where veterans now live.

The Marine Corps League of New Hampshire will be in hand to formerly dedicate a flag with pole and solar lighting in commemoration and honor of the veterans buried there as well.

The Tilton American Legion Post 49 Sons of the American Legion will also be there to perform upgrade repairs to the 1934 DAR-AL monument with bronze plaque of the former Fort Stevenson located on the site.
