Students and staff at both Southwick and Sanbornton Central Schools recently enjoyed a lively performance by members of the Plymouth State University TIGER Program. TIGER, which stands for Theatre Integrating Guidance, Education, and Responsibility was written and directed by Dr. Trish Lindberg with music by Natalie Roy, Cynthia Bizzaro and Rick Lindberg and choreography by Trent Soyster.
The professional education theatre troupe uses music, theatre and dance to bring some difficult social issues to life to help students better understand how to respond in these challenging situations. The actors, Thomas Andrews, Michael Stoddard, Olivia Etchings, Maddie Starr Wicker, and Mariam Masroor, kept their audience engaged with their performance.
TIGER offers original professional productions created from the writings of children from across the state. The shows include Team Up Together, Choose Love and more. Each production is designed to help children deal with the difficult social issues faced in schools through music, theatre, dance and lots of positive, affirming messages.
