LACONIA — The Salvation Army has served the communities of Laconia and Gilford in numerous ways since it opened its doors in 1893. One-hundred and twenty-eight years later and The Salvation Army is still serving providing for the needs of the community throughout the year and even more so during the holiday season by providing toys and food.
The Salvation Army is thankful and grateful to the Lakes Region Children’s Auction donation which helps them accomplish making children’s wishes come true.
Starting on Oct. 5, the Laconia Salvation Army will begin their Christmas assistance application intake for all who reside in the Laconia and Gilford communities. For more information in how families can sign-up, on Oct. 1 they can begin calling the local TSA office number at 603-524-1834 to set up an appointment with Office Manager Kim Grant from Tuesdays through Fridays, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
The following documents are required for the intake process:
1. Photo ID
2. Proof of residency
3. Birth certificates for all children 17 and under; custody papers if applicable
Even through a global pandemic, need has no season and that is why the Salvation Army continues to march on and do their best to provide for the children and families in need within the Lakes Region community.
