LACONIA — People who took photos of themselves or others in the peace cranes display at the Congregational Church of Laconia in July are asked to send copies of the photos to towertidings@laconiaucc.org. The church is putting together a collage of all the pictures. The collage will be displayed at the Belknap Mill and placed in the 2018 Laconia time capsule.
The Peace Crane display was created to celebrate the 125th bIrthday of the City of Laconia. 4,500 peace cranes were displayed soaring beneath the bridge at the Congregational Church of Laconia UCC. It was a community project with the theme, "Laconia Cares About Peace.” Each of the Laconia schools participated, as well as the Belknap and Merrimack County jails, women at the Taylor
Community, and members of the Congregational Church.
