WOLFEBORO — Winnies Socks, the first cozy slipper sock worn inside or outdoors on the market, located in Wolfeboro, is now accepting applications for its’ second-annual summer camp scholarship. The scholarship is designed to give local kids, who might otherwise not have the opportunity to enjoy summer camp, a week of day camp or overnight camp at Camp Sentinel in Tuftonboro. Applications can be found at www.winniessocks.com and are open until March 31, 2021.
Ten percent of all proceeds from all purchases of Winnies Socks goes directly toward the summer camp scholarship, and founder Kara Brunetta was able to send two children to Camp Sentinel in 2020. Brother and sister Bradley and Alyssa of East Wakefield received a week each of day camp at Camp Sentinel last year.
“When I founded Winnies, I wanted to make sure I did something that would benefit local kids,” said Brunetta. “I love watching my young niece and nephew enjoy their summers outdoors on Lake Winnipesaukee and I want other kids to experience and enjoy the outdoors, make memories and leave the video games and television at home for a while.”
