CENTER SANDWICH — The Center Sandwich Fine Craft Gallery, a founding member of the League of NH Craftsmen, will once again offer its popular Introduction to Mosaics Class this summer.
On Tuesday, Aug. 1, Cindy Stanton will teach the class from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The day will begin with an introduction to the direct method of making a mosaic and a brief presentation on elements of design in mosaic art.
Techniques and safe practices when cutting glass will be explained and demonstrated. A wide variety of materials will be available for student use, including vitreous glass, ceramic and mirrored tile, stained-glass, millefiori and ceramic dishware.
Each student will make and should be able to finish a 4-inch-by-4-inch mosaic of their own design. This class often sells out.
The Center Sandwich Fine Craft Gallery is located at 32 Main St. (On the Green).
