MEREDITH — The Meredith Rotary Club recently named Executive Director of the Meredith Food Bank Barbara Rayno the recipient of the 2025 Community Service Award.Â
This annual award honors a non-Rotarian who embodies Rotary’s values and has made a lasting impact on the local community. Rayno was chosen from a pool of nominees in recognition of her outstanding commitment and tireless service as a volunteer.Â
For the past 23 years, Rayno has dedicated over 30 hours a week — completely unpaid — managing the day-to-day operations of the Meredith Food Bank. She leads a team of 15 volunteers, secures donations and grants, procures food, and handles the organization’s administrative responsibilities.Â
Her long-standing service and humility exemplify the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self.”Â
In recognition of her contributions, the Meredith Rotary Club has awarded Rayno a commemorative plaque and donated $1,000 to the Meredith Food Bank, her charity of choice.Â
