TILTON — Ken Norton of Tilton was named the NH Public Health Association’s 2022 Roger Fossum Lifetime Achievement Award winner at their annual meeting. Norton is a licensed independent clinical social worker and is the former executive director of NAMI NH The National Alliance on Mental Illness.
During his tenure at NAMI NH, Norton led the development of the Connect suicide prevention program which has trained in almost every state as well as 35 tribal nations and six countries. Norton has presented nationally and internationally on topics related to suicide and mental health and has served as a subject matter expert for the Department of Defense, Veterans Administration, and the US Dept. of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. He is a member of the steering committee for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and was active in advocating for the federal legislation which will convert the Lifeline to the 3 digit 988 nationally in July of 2022.
