MEREDITH — The Meredith Historical Society invites the public to its upcoming program on Tuesday, Nov. 1, “The Early History of Meredith Village.” The program will be presented by local author, historian and society board member John Hopper, Ph.D.

John will present his research on the origins of the village from its inception through to the 1830s. Karen Thorndike, president of the Meredith Historical Society noted that the Society is grateful to John for his research into Meredith’s history. “Given the significance of Meredith Village throughout the years, we are in for a real treat on the 1st,” added Thorndike.

This presentation, the final program of the 2022 Program Series, will be held at the Meredith Community Center, 1 Circle Drive. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for light refreshments. The program begins at 7 p.m. Masks are optional and will be available at the event. All programs of the society are free and all are welcome.

Attendees will also receive a project update on the Meredith Veterans Memorial that will grace the front lawn of the Library on Main Street. The Meredith Veterans Memorial Committee will share the design drawings for the project and an update on their efforts to identify names of veterans for the memorial.
