GILFORD — The Gilford Rotary Club recently completed a restoration project at Gilford Beach, donating their time and effort to repair, pressure wash, and paint the Parks and Recreation Department’s picnic tables.
The project, which involved dozens of volunteer hours, was not without challenges. Club members persevered through persistent rain and unfavorable weather conditions to bring the well-used tables back to life just in time for the busy summer season.
The initiative was made possible thanks to the support of local businesses. Finethy Family Hardware donated the paint and supplies used for the project — a gift that is believed to be one of their final charitable contributions before closing their doors. LaValley Building Supply/Lumber also stepped up by donating the lumber needed for repairs.
“We can’t thank the Gilford Rotary Club enough for all their hard work,” said Director of the Gilford Parks and Recreation Department Brittni Stewart. “They really went above and beyond to help with this project, even with the tough weather. Their dedication to our community is something we truly appreciate.”
