MEREDITH ― People who wish they could have their own personal librarian will love the BingeBundle service offered by the Meredith Public Library. Librarians individually curate books, audiobooks, and DVDs specifically for patrons who sign up for the service. In addition to the library media, librarians add a surprise snack or gift (goodies sponsored by the Friends of the Library) into each BingeBundle bag as well.
It's easy to get started. Library card holders can sign up at the library website (MeredithLibrary.org) by clicking on the Services tab and then choosing Other Services, and finally BingeBundle Request. Patrons are also welcome to come into the library and ask for a paper questionnaire.
The short questions determine a participant's taste in books, movies, and snacks. The librarians then use that information to make personal choices for each participant. When the BingeBundle is ready for pickup, the library will contact the patron. (This can take up to a week after the card has been turned in or the form filled out online.)
It's also easy to keep the BingeBundles coming monthly. When returning the reading or viewing materials, recipients simply also return the individual comment card included in every Bundle and check off a desire to receive a Bundle the next month. The feedback helps the librarians refine the choices for the next monthly bundle.
If a patron prefers to wait to receive a Bundle at some time in the future, he or she can indicate that on the feedback card, wait to submit the card at a future date, or initiate the request on the website in the future.
