LACONIA — Natural resources are very important to Belknap County’s economy and to why people choose to live, vacation and work here. Donations via NH Gives, 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9, to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, will help the Belknap County Conservation District continue to assist caring for them, at nhgives.org.

BCCD has been promoting the responsible use of natural resources since Valentine's Day 1946. It encourages best management practices for agriculture, rural and urban development. This includes land use guidance for water quality to reduce polluted runoff and soil erosion.

BCCD programs include stream restoration, food insecurity, invasive species management, pollinators, the Wetlands Walk, farm equipment rental program, community gardens and municipal forest management plans.
