ASHLAND — Each year the Hobo Railroad offers 4-hour Fall Foliage specials from late September through October. The trains depart Meredith, travel through Ashland, and stop in Plymouth where they have lunch. On the way back through, they stop at the Ashland Railroad Station Museum.

Upon the train’s arrival, members of the Ashland Historical Society and the Ashland reenactors, dressed in 1860s attire, stand on the platform and greet the visitors. They also provide guided tours of the historic 19th century station.

This past season over 2,000 tourists visited Ashland’s Railroad Station. Besides giving tours and making selfies with the visitors, they sell souvenirs. This year, they also offered raffle tickets for a quilt raffle to raise money for the Ashland Historical Society. The drawing took place at the AHS annual meeting on Nov. 9. The winner of the quilt is Annie Hager of New Hampton.
