LACONIA — Altrusa of Laconia has made a contribution to New Hampshire Humane Society in support of its ongoing mission to save and enrich the lives of animals across the region. The donation included cleaning supplies, pet toys, treats for both cats and dogs, several cat carriers, and a cash gift to help sustain the organization’s life-saving efforts.
“Donations like this mean so much to our team and the animals in our care,” said Charles Stanton, executive director of New Hampshire Humane Society. “I’m especially inspired by the historical connection between our two organizations. According to the Altrusa website, they were the first national service organization of business and professional women, founded in 1917.
“Similarly, New Hampshire Humane Society was established in 1900 as the Women’s Humane Society, advocating tirelessly for the welfare of women, children, and animals. The roots of our missions are deeply intertwined, and I’m grateful for their generosity and continued commitment to compassionate community leadership.”
The New Hampshire Humane Society relies on community support to provide critical shelter, medical care, and second chances to animals in need. Contributions such as Altrusa’s directly impact the organization’s ability to respond quickly and compassionately to the growing demands of animal welfare work.
