If the father in your life is a fan of the outdoors, a plaque on the universally accessible Wetlands Walk at Gunstock is suggested as a gift by Jan Hooper, volunteer for its maintenance. The plaques are 1”x4” in dark green with white lettering and they last for years. Order forms are available from the Belknap County Conservation District by contacting email belknapconservation@gmail.com, or in the bins at the ¼ mile Wetlands Walk loop. The Wetlands Walk can be accessed two ways.
For those without mobility concerns there is a small parking lot at the base of the bridge from Rt 11-A at Gunstock’s entrance and from there a modest walk through the woods along Poorfarm Brook will bring you to the boardwalk. If you have a mobility impaired person(s) with you, drive past the small parking lot and stop at the first building on the right for directions to access parking directly adjacent to the Wetlands Walk.
Funds from the purchase of these personalized boards assist with the maintenance of the Wetlands Walk. Contributions to BCCD are tax deductible and all programs are offered without discrimination.
