Making a difference one donation at a time, Mix 94.1fm's 38th annual Cash & Cans Money & Food Drive for the holidays is set for Dec. 8-13. All money and food raised stays local, benefiting several area organizations, including the Franklin Police Toys for Tots Program, the Belmont Police Santa Helpers program, Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry, Bread & Roses Soup Kitchen, Tilton/Northfield/Sanbornton Christmas Fund, Every Child Is Ours, Greater Lakes Region Santa Fund, Meredith Emergency Food Pantry, the Northfield-Tilton Congregational Church Food Pantry, American Legion Post 49’s Christmas baskets, Got Lunch! Belmont and St. Vincent de Paul’s food pantry.

Last year the community set a record for donations, with over $71,000 in cash and thousands of pounds of non-perishable food items.

A unique way to raise money is to purchase a Mix Cash & Cans prize calendar.

Mix 94.1fm’s Fred Caruso, who started the program in 1987, said “The calendar is filled with over $6,000 in cash and prizes, each prize donated to us by area businesses and individuals.”

Calendars are available at Prescott’s Florist, Vista Foods and All My Life Jewelers in Laconia; at Franklin Savings Bank offices in Franklin, Tilton, Gilford, Bristol, and Boscawen; Caleb’s Barber Shop, Hanser Auto Body, Tilton Senior Center and Diana’s Morning Brew in downtown Tilton; Park-N-Go Market in Northfield and Grevior Furniture and the Hair Depot in Franklin.
