HOLDERNESS — The 10th annual Squam Ridge Race is set for Sunday, Sept. 25. All proceeds support the Squam trail network. Run or walk the 12.2 mile race at 9 a.m. that traverses a majority of the Squam Range with amazing views of Squam Lake and surrounding watershed, or choose the 4-mile race at 9:30 a.m. that climbs Mt. Livermore and back down to the finish line.
Food and beverages, donated by local restaurants and businesses, are available at the start/finish area. The Squam Ridge Race is a fundraiser, so all proceeds from this event go back into the trails in the 50 mile network, including the trails the race takes place on. Top finishers in their division receive medals and the top overall finishers receive prizes. Online registration closes Sept. 22, but day-of registration is available for a fee. To see course maps, times, and more info, head to squamlakes.org/SRR2022.
Don't want to run/hike but want to give back to the trails in another way? SLA is in need of volunteers for the Ridge Race. From registration helpers, to directing runners/parking, to cooking food, there is a place for you. If you are interested in volunteering at the Ridge Race, email rcoughlin@squamlakes.org.
