MEREDITH — Artistic Exploration, a new art studio and classroom space led by local artist and graphic designer Marilee Sundius, has officially opened its doors at 51 Main St. (Water Street side entrance) in Meredith. The studio offers a welcoming and inspiring space where artists of all ages can explore, experiment, and express themselves through a wide variety of art mediums.
At Artistic Exploration, students ages 5 through adult are invited to discover their creativity through multi-medium art instruction. Classes are designed to nurture artistic growth, spark imagination, and build self-confidence through guided exploration and playful learning.
Sundius brings over 30 years of art and design experience as the owner of Sundius Design, serving the Lakes Region with professional design and illustration services, as well as award winning fine art and commissions. Complimenting her design career, she teaches numerous art classes and workshops for both children and adults. Her philosophy is “Art is a skill that can be learned with practice, and its rewards extend far beyond the artistic journey itself.”
Artistic Exploration offers weekly youth classes for homeschooled students and will soon offer “after school” classes. Upcoming adult classes and workshops in October/November include:
Art Sampler Series: Students will explore different art mediums through a series of two-week mini-workshops in drawing, watercolor, and acrylic or oil painting.
Abstract Art Workshop: Artists of all ability levels are invited to let their creativity flow while creating a large abstract piece using watercolor, marker, collage, and more, which will be made into smaller, striking works of art.
Afternoon Tea & Painting Workshop: On Sunday, Oct. 26, 1-3 p.m., attendees can sipping tea while painting their own custom tea cup or mug.
