LACONIA — Mortgage Network, Inc., one of the largest independent mortgage lenders in the eastern U.S., announced Stephanie McKim has joined the company’s Laconia, New Hampshire office as a loan officer. McKim will be responsible for helping borrowers throughout New Hampshire with their home financing needs.
McKim (NMLS #2235106) said homebuyers must stay calm and be prepared in order to succeed in today’s local housing market, which she described as “chaotic.”
“Inventory is at a 23-year low, inflation is rising, and even though interest rates are still relatively low, they are rising as well,” McKim said. “Knowing that we are in one of the most competitive markets ever, homebuyers need to take a deep breath and find a trusted loan officer and Realtor to work with. Having the right team on your side is more important than ever.”
McKim said potential homebuyers should also get preapproved for financing early, so they know their true buying power. Buyers can expect to make a down payment of between 3% and 20%, and there are homebuyer assistance programs available for those who qualify, she said.
“Having the ability to close your loan without issues gives you a real advantage,” she said. “Credit scores are also important, so it is vital to talk with your loan officer well in advance of your intended purchase to understand what can affect your credit score during the home buying process.”
McKim can be reached by phone at 603-998-7953, by email at smckim@mortgagenetwork.com, or through her website at www.stephaniemckim.com.
