If Don Ewing believes that various forms of Marxism are "e.g., Fascism, Nazism, Socialism and Communism," then I think he should go back to school to study these various ideologies.
While there may be similarities and influences ascribed to some of these, communism, for example, is diametrically opposed to fascism/Nazism to the point that the Nazis of the Third Reich considered communists as enemies of the state and, being such, arrested them and sent them to concentration camps. Today's MAGA Republicans and their leader (in my opinion the real RINOs) love labeling people who oppose them. The term socialist they have regularly used has worn thin. So the new label is communist.Â
In his governance Trump and his MAGA cohorts have espoused the methods of the German Nazis: They are extreme right-wing ultranationalists who aim to subvert democratic power structures, to suppress a free press that they label as "fake" when it does not support them, to subvert true history and create an alternate history aligned with their ideology, to consider DEI, the hallmark of a democratic society, un-American, to label those who oppose them, such as the amorphous antifa (anti-fascist), as terrorists and enemies of the state, actually enemies of a totalitarian leader and system, and so to be properly eliminated from the public discourse.
MAGA is not what America should be, not what true Republicans and Democrats of the past worked to build for a more perfect union that has survived for 250 years as a beacon of democracy to the world. They have made America a negative, feared and despised force in the world.
