To The Daily Sun,
So no drought this year it seems and reports for the apple crops are not looking good, at least around here. First it was late frosts now this daily rain, well pretty much daily, and hay baling is a nonstarter for dairy farmers. Road washouts and travel advisories keep buzzing phones, TV, even computers, so all we can do is hope for a few weeks of actual summer because our tourist businesses can't be doing well either.
Movie theaters look to be doing well from my casual observations and there is always books. Speaking of, how about some educational books like "Hot Talk, Cold Science" by S. Fred Singer or "Rethinking Green" by Robert Higgs or even "The New Holy Wars" by Robert H. Nelson? Plenty of choices for those who want a diversion from TV reruns and learn something, too.
Learning can be fun especially when you can get a laugh at the media's pessimistic non-science-based scenarios about climate change. After all, for decades we have been bombarded by fictions of end-of-the-world disasters and have had huge, expensive government bureaucracies foisted on us at said to be computer programs by "climate scientists" whose every prediction for two decades have failed.
Pushing 81 years old and can tell readers our climate now is the same as it was when I was a boy. It's called weather.
