To The Daily Sun,
I would like to thank the voters of Gilford who took valuable time out of their busy lives to exercise their franchise on Election Day.
It has been my experience that only a little time observing outside the polls is needed to gain an understanding of what makes Gilford a home: the efforts of our professional staff, the numerous dedicated volunteers, the candidates, and those that brave the elements for 12 plus hours to champion their cause, but most importantly, it is the citizen who is the most powerful person in town that we work for and can’t do without. We should all be grateful for this seamless collaboration that we never give a second thought to.
I would also like to thank Jim McIntire for committing himself to serving our community, not an easy thing to do. His candidacy gave the voters something very important ― a choice.
Finally, a heartfelt thanks to those who showed faith by voting me back in office. I will do my utmost to continue the many positive things I heard, and examine the (happily) fewer negatives shared with me.
