To The Daily Sun,

In reading the many letters to the editor regarding Laconia’s upcoming election, and as entertaining as it is, I find it odd how many writers justify their support of a particular candidate(s). Many want to see Laconia continue on the same old beaten path, excellent. Several offer their support and words of wisdom and advice to the voters and taxpayers of Laconia but do not reside and “assumedly” do not vote in Laconia, hmm, that sounds familiar, excellent. Many attempt to instill fear and how bad a newcomer to city leadership will be, excellent. Many simply make up things that are not valid, excellent. Many feel change is not good, excellent. Many believe insanity is good for Laconia, excellent. Just heard Bruce Cheney received an endorsement from Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, excellent.

All I can say is what we have all been told before at some point in our life, “Just be careful of what you wish for.” I just wish Laconia would become the city it used to be; we had so much. A city it could once again be and should be, something other than old ideas with zero success, it needs new ideas and a breath of fresh air, a place that is more than just a dream full of unfulfilled promises, a city that is truly on the move with change. Now that would be excellent.

I believe the city is on the verge of some major changes, are we and our current leaders ready for it? Pay attention, Laconia.
