Mark Weinreb: Weighing in on the Macklemore and Robert Kraft issue

The dispute between Macklemore and Robert Kraft has become a national discussion. Many antisemitic tropes have been stated by Macklemore and his supporters.

“Robert Kraft is a money-hungry Zion … not in favor of free speech.”

Robert Kraft is in "the pocket of the AIPAC," etc.

To counter these arguments, the Palestinian civilians have also been given millions of dollars from countries with large oil reserves such as Iran and Saudi Arabia, as well as from Israel and the United States. Unfortunately, large proportions of this money have been spent on terrorist infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, enabling terrorists to attack Israeli civilians, hide their munitions, and hide Israeli kidnap victims.

Also, a large cry from Palestinian supporters is “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free.” By definition, this statement indicates that Israel has no right to exist. Many pro-Palestinian progressives, believe that the dispute over Palestinian territory is a 20th century phenomenon. However, during Biblical times the Kingdom of Israel existed. Hundreds of archaeological sites in Israel and Jerusalem proper have confirmed this. Still standing is the Western (“Wailing”) Wall, which was part of Israel's second temple; a holy place of prayer for Jews. In addition, many Palestinian supporters are not aware that a proportion of Arab territories were originally partitioned off the Palestinian mandate, including Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. Families from the Gaza Strip until 1967 were Egyptian citizens, and families from the West Bank were citizens of Jordan.

Tragically many innocent Palestinian civilians have died in this conflict. This is not because of a genocidal wish by Israel and the IDF forces, but rather because Hamas turned this conflict into urban warfare. Many peaceful Palestinians live and work in Israel today.
