Lynn Thomas: With safety net cuts, Don Bolduc shows he doesn't care about senior citizens

Don Bolduc is running for the U.S. Senate on the promise of ending Medicare and Social Security for Granite Staters, leaving us without a safety net and stripping health care from seniors who need it. This is reprehensible. Bolduc spoke at a town hall in Pembroke last month and said he wants to end Medicare as we know it. He also called for cutting $1.2 trillion from the program.

On Social Security, he said it’s “time for change” and has vowed to slash that funding until we live in a time where “we no longer have” Social Security. Never before have I seen someone who wants to represent us at the federal level make such extreme and dangerous attacks against seniors and our most vulnerable. He couldn’t be more out of touch with our state, and this is not leadership. Don Bolduc is unfit to represent a state where nearly 20% of residents are senior citizens — he clearly doesn’t care about us.
