I am enthusiastic to endorse Karen Burnett-Kurie for New Hampshire House seat in District 7.

Karen brings an extraordinary combination of scientific expertise, educational experience, nonprofit leadership, and community service. Her career has focused on helping young people learn, strengthening communities, protecting natural resources, and using sound evidence to address difficult problems.

For decades, Karen has worked in environmental and outdoor education, teaching everyone from elementary school students to college professors. She has taught high school science, managed summer camps and youth programs, trained educators, and led outreach efforts connecting the public with research at UNH. Her work has included natural-resource management, climate science, marine research, space science, robotics, and sustainable communities.

Karen has also managed grants, evaluated programs, served as a reviewer for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and United Way, and worked with nonprofit organizations across the region. Locally, she has volunteered as a lake monitor, supported Cooperative Extension, served on environmental-education boards, coached students, and contributed to community projects throughout the Lakes Region.

What stands out most is Karen’s thoughtful, independent approach. She listens, examines the facts, considers the available evidence, and is willing to have her views challenged.
