To The Daily Sun,
With the cold weather giving the Lakes Region some fun ice activities, I’m disappointed in the Arthur Tilton outdoor rink. Outside skating for the community is a special feature of New Hampshire living and that rink is unique even in NH. The entire ensemble needs some maintenance and the actual skating has been sub par. When driving by and seeing kids skating and playing on the ice, it warms the heart and has a certain innocence to it. To those of us that have built outdoor rinks, a roof is a gift from the heavens. I hope Gilford takes the initiative to start giving more attention to a gem of a rink and allow the community to skate and shoot at will. Fix the ice, straighten some signs, and make it look like the town cares. Bring on the cold.
