To The Daily Sun,

Despite what a frequent contributor to this forum would like us to believe, Donald Trump was convicted by a jury of his peers, not by his political enemies. It was 12 ordinary citizens, not Joe Biden, George Soros, Juan Merchan or Alvin Bragg, who unanimously pronounced Trump guilty on 34 felony counts. The idea that these jurors were some sort of political pawn is a disservice to the jury system and a disservice to the rule of law — the jury system is the foundation of American law.

Trump doesn’t want his indictments to appear “legal” in any way, thereby rallying his forces by claiming political persecution. They are political by his own doing — by his efforts to undermine the political and legal systems that are investigating his wrongdoing and holding him accountable. It’s ironic that our legal system has worked just fine under 44 previous presidents, but as soon as courts try to hold Trump accountable, conservatives question the legal system; they believe Trump is a victim just because he says he is.

Being the petulant man-child that he is, Trump rants that, “This was a rigged, disgraceful trial.” Does he mean to imply that all 12 jurors, none of whom were known in advance, were paid off by Biden or Soros? In reality, Trump’s defense team was stymied by a lack of a counter narrative to the prosecution and a flawed strategy to undercut the state's weaknesses and discredit their witnesses. Defense witnesses had to be admonished for attempting to make a mockery of the trial with their contemptuous conduct — one referring to the exercise as “ridiculous.”

Losers are often defined as individuals who make excuses and blame others. Excuses and blaming others is paramount in Trumpworld and has become the mantra of the Republican/MAGA Party.
