In response to Mr. Jim Mayotte's letter dated July 7, not all Democrats hate America, (actually I don't know one who does). It's the same as saying all Republicans hate all Democrats. Or that all Republicans are MAGAs.
Using a broad brush on any group is itself against our founding principles. I am a registered Democrat. I have voted for Democrats, Republicans and independents. I love America, I just hate what Donald Trump is doing to it.
My dad was a World War II veteran, and my brother is a Vietnam veteran who happens to be a Republican. He and I don't talk much about politics, but we both respect the other person's right to free thought. As a matter of fact, I just received my yearly copy of the Constitution from him.
I appreciate that he sends them to me every year. It is an interesting little book (about the size of a dollar bill) that contains the entire Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, all Amendments, as well as quotes from our Founding Fathers. I would be happy to send him a copy. It protects both of us. It even protects Donald Trump, and may it help us to be protected from him.
I love America.
