John Lewis: Michelle Obama should run for president against Donald Trump

It is sad for most people to see Joe Biden's disastrous debate followed up by an interview with ABC in which Biden sounded like "death warmed over."

Donald Trump has gained the upper hand, even though Biden on a gurney is a better presidential prospect than Donald Trump, who insults his MAGA supporters every day with lies and comments like "I love my uneducated." Have you noticed the many letter writers from Trump worshipers in your paper have atrocious grammatical construction? Are they graduates of Trump University?

However, a choice between Biden or Kamala Harris (bless her kind and generous heart) may not be enough to overcome the forces of Trump's evil empire, consisting of duped ordinary folks, the cowards in Congress, and the males on the Supreme Court — a mix of right wing womanizers, and bribe acceptors — and who denigrate and patronize the liberal three females on the court.

Michelle Obama has previously stated she will not run for office. At that time she had two growing teenagers, now out of the nest. Michelle is loved by most in America. She is smart, eloquent and dynamic in her speeches. She is a lawyer. She has eight years' experience in the White House, and met many world leaders. She would have the added bonus of a husband with her, who was himself a beloved president, and admired globally. She would leave Trump in the dust, in debate or on the campaign trail.

Michelle should run, her country needs her, and I hope she would help us get through this perilous threat of our democratic republic being ended by Trump. Come on, women of New Hampshire and America, set the flame, encourage her to run.
