To The Daily Sun,

We are living in a rebellious age.

We don't have the whole story of what happened with Renee Nicole Good. We have differing accounts. But something I do see is a spirit of rebellion being fanned by many in the government and the media.

I'm a Christian. The Bible tells me that I should submit to the powers that be; that is part of being a Christian. There are times when government authority needs to be resisted; that is, when readers' government is telling them to do something that is clearly against God's word, the Bible. There are many things the Bible doesn't speak to. A nation's immigration policies are one of them. Readers may like them, or they may not, but the Scriptures do not give the believer the authority to rebel against government actions because they don't like them.

Many years ago, when I was a young man, I was kind of a strange character back then; well I was sitting at a restaurant that I enjoyed frequenting. I think the proprietor thought I was bad for his business, and he asked me to leave. I refused to leave. He called the police. The police officer asked me to leave. I figured that I had done nothing wrong, so I said no and refused to move. I was arrested for disorderly conduct. I learned that when a law officer gives someone a lawful order, they should obey. A lesson many today would do well to learn.
