To The Daily Sun,
Adolf Hitler wrote in "Mein Kampf" that the masses are more likely to believe a “big lie” than a small one, because they cannot imagine someone being so audaciously dishonest.
That neatly describes New Hampshire's Republicans. They tell us they're fighting to lower property taxes, and Democrats are doing the opposite.
Well, here are the simple facts:
- We have a Republican governor
- We have a Republican Executive Council
- We have a Republican House of Representatives
- We have a Republican Senate
When it comes to state government financial support to local communities for public education, New Hampshire is dead last ... number 50 out of all of the states.
So the local towns have nowhere else to turn but to raise property taxes to pay the bill that comes from the school district. The public education system in New Hampshire is being gutted, and the local taxpayers can take just so much. Who's responsible?
So, next time a reader votes, ask: Was Hitler right?
