To The Daily Sun,
Bruce Cheney's recent claim that he "hasn't asked any partisan leaders to endorse" him should be challenged. A week or so after making that claim in a printed letter, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, one of New Hampshire's Democratic members, was included as a supporter on his campaign Facebook page. Voters deserve honesty, not political gamesmanship.
This is not the first such disagreement between Cheney statements and facts. He once refused acknowledging his relationship with Norm Silber, despite there being pictures of the opposite. Voters remember Silber's efforts to shake up Gunstock Mountain leadership. Presently, Cheney's link to Jeanne Shaheen, whose past includes the support of federal policies that are behind the government shutdown unpopular across Laconia.
When one tells someone one thing but does something else, it's not only disappointing, it's an abridgment of public trust. The people of Laconia deserve a mayor who is transparent, consistent, and accountable. We need to be asking: Why does Bruce Cheney keep telling us one thing and doing something else?
Mike Bordes deserves our vote because Bruce Cheney has not been transparent in any way.
