To The Daily Sun,
Frank Mello is running to maintain his position on the Laconia Police Commission, a role that he performed for the past eight years (and never missing a meeting). His duties as commissioner entailed working closely with the chief and the other two commissioners in setting policies for the department as well as setting wages and benefits for for the non-union employees of the department. His duties also included working with the patrol officers' union in constructing and approving contract(s) for the unionized employees.
His interesting background has served him well as a commission member. His nine years as a fire chief in northern New Hampshire; 28 years as an employee of the NH Department of Transportation; three years as a police officer in Plymouth, and his several years of experience with the Red Cross Emergency Services have given him a unique view of the importance of public service in this state. His dedication and service to the state need to continue. Vote for Frank Mello for police commissioner.
