To The Daily Sun,

I have questions for the city mayor, manager and department heads. Does Laconia publish their annual budget for the taxpayers that includes each department’s budget, the amount in the “rainy day fund” and their bond rating? Belmont has theirs available at Town Hall but I have never seen one for Laconia. This would help me understand why we have property assessments annually when the state only requires them every five years. It would also clarify why Laconia residents are paying to resurface state roads such as South Main Street (New Hampshire Route 106) while streets like Keasor Court are left with very dangerous pavement, poor drainage for rain and snow melt and flooding in severe rain storms. I have taken pictures if someone wants to see them.
