Donna J. Cilley: Support reelection of O’Hara for Belmont selectboard

To The Daily Sun,

I am writing to support the reelection of Travis O’Hara to the Belmont Selectboard.

Travis brings a strong business mindset and accounting background that has proven valuable to our community. In his first year in office, the town faced a difficult challenge when the town-wide budget did not pass. Travis stepped up and worked through the budget line by line to find responsible reductions while protecting critical services, including staffing and emergency services.

Over the past three years, he has remained focused on fiscal responsibility while working to build relationships that can help Belmont pursue federal grant opportunities. These efforts could help fund infrastructure improvements, including potential water and sewer expansion, which are important for responsible commercial growth and future development that will support our tax base.

Travis also recognizes the importance of building a stronger working relationship between the town and our school system. Working together and engaging our state representatives will be essential as we address the continued loss of state education funding and work to maintain a sustainable tax rate for residents.

Please join me in supporting Travis O’Hara for reelection on March 10.
