MEREDITH — Three people went to the hospital after a three-car accident on Route 104 near Corliss Hill Road on Monday afternoon.

Meredith police and fire departments, along with Stewart's Ambulance, responded to reports of an accident with more than one vehicle at 3:52 p.m. on March 9. Officers found damage to all vehicles, according to a report by the Meredith Police Department.

Meredith Police said officers found a 2025 Toyota Tacoma, driven by an 18-year-old Meredith woman, which had slowed to turn left onto Corliss Hill, coming from Route 104 westbound. A 2025 Ford F-350, with an open car hauler carrying three vehicles, driven by a 50-year-old man from North Miami Beach, Florida, rear-ended the Tacoma, sending it into the oncoming lane. The truck hit another 2025 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 71-year-old Effingham woman.

Both the 18-year-old driver of the rear-ended truck, and their 19-year-old female passenger, from Sanbornton, were taken to Concord Hospital-Laconia with non-life-threatening injuries. The Effingham woman was also taken to the hospital, with minor injuries.

The driver of the Ford F-350 did not need medical transport.

Fire Chief Ken Jones said there was no extrication, and all occupants were out of their vehicles when officers arrived. Jones did not know the cause of the accident.

Route 104 was shut down for about 90 minutes. Center Harbor, New Hampton and State Police assisted at the scene. Harper’s Towing and Stanford Towing removed the vehicles.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Anyone who witnessed it is asked to call Meredith Officer Jennifer Bello at 603-279-4561.
